My diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease in September 2009 at age 80 gave my life a new focus and challenge. Finding ways to meet this challenge helped make 2010 the best year of my life. I hope this blog will be a place where I can connect with others who also are dealing with aging and its afflictions and attractions so that we can share our "experience, strength and hope."

On Her 93rd Birthday, Margaret Recites One of Her Own Poems
A friend just sent me a short video he took of his mom on her 93rd birthday, June 29. In it, she recites a poem she'd written for a friend about 60 years ago. What a lovely message. And what a fine example we see here of aging with grace. Brava, Margaret! And a belated Happy Birthday!

Awesome! What's her secret?
Beautiful lady. Lovely poem. Glorious location!
Very wise indeed.
Clearly Margaret didn't just write this "one more day" poem, she obviously has taken each day as a gift for the 60 years since writing the poem. And look at her now!
Thank you Margaret for sharing your gift with the rest of us!
Loved it! She's still so vital.
Hello -- I found out about this lovely video poem at 70candles, and am so glad I stopped in to watch it. I'm 73 now, and hope hope hope to be something like Margaret twenty years from now, when I'm 93. What an inspiration! Thank you so very much for this.
wonderful. in additon to the messge, i liked the background and the little whoops at the end. just showed it to my 89 year old father, who is in a retirement home. he doesn't smile much these days, but this did the trick. thanks, Margaret.
私は例えば彼女の詩でこの美しい女性に会うのが大好きでした。 彼女は本当に93歳であるかもしれませんか? 本当に注目すべきです。
